Saige and other things

By the way, these are NOT my pictures, they belong to AG.

So I bet you guys have all seen AGOverSeaFan's video of Saige's collection. And for me, it's a mixed bag.
Saige is adorable. I LOVE her. I just wish she didn't have blue eyes. I mean, I JUST got Olive, who has blue eyes. And actually, besides Rachel, all of my dolls have brown eyes or blue eyes. I need more diversity in my doll collection.

So this is what I think of her collection:

Doll: SHE'S SO CUTE! I LOVE HER RED HAIR! She's not SUPER realistic, but defiantly cute. She could be Olive's sister if I get her.

Meet dress, boots, and ring: That dress, which I think might actually be a shirt and a dress, is ADORABLE! So are those boots. I used to have ones like those that were grey, and my friend Molly has the same ones now. That ring is awful. SO plasticy (not a word) and fake! AG should really try to do better. I mean, if we're paying $105 dollars for these dolls, I at least want the ring to look good. Sorry if that annoyed you, but it's my honest feelings.

Pink dress and boots, which I assume is her fancy dress: I REALLY dislike this.Seems too over-the-top for a nine year old. The boots remind me of these, which are meant for FIFTEEN YEAR OLDS. I don't like this outfit at all.

Pink shirt, belt, jeans, and boots: The shirt is okay, but... this looks like Nikki to me. I mean, I think AG could be more creative. The boots and belt ARE cute, though. I LOVE black boots, but I don't think I'll buy this outfit just to have them.

Pajamas: Umm... well, you can't criticize it for not being unique, like with Kanani's pajamas, but it's ugly. Nothing matches at all. I mean, I guess it might be useful for mix-and-matching, but as an outfit in a whole, I dislike it. There. I said it. If I get Saige, I'll have her dress in the coconut pajamas.

Outfit with the sweater: My favorite of the whole collection. Works for a nine year old, but is very sophisticated and artsy. Saige is artsy. A grey shirt and leggings, sandals. Good for mix-and-match, but all cute.

Wow, this has been my longest post for a long time! I have to go on vacation now, but the second I get home, I'll post. Promise!
See ya!

The extreme awesomeness of Olive

What's that? It's the awesome sound of a new doll.

She was an early Christmas present. Internet world, meet Olive. And the glasses that she's wearing? Molly's, who my sister got.  BEAUTIFUL DOLL.

A Contest

Hey1 It's Addie, in case you've forgotten the sound of my (online) voice. About that... sorry that I've been AWOL lately, but I've been working really hard on Randomness, which you guys might remember from my last (brainless) post. But I'll try to get back on track. Don't forget me, okay? So anyway, I was thinking about having an GOTY contest. Nothing super fancy, just a doll edit and a brief explanation of the story. The truth is, I love making fake GOTYs, even though I think by now we all know about Saige (LOVE her!). I'll judge using different items, like "Smoothest Edit" or "Most Creative story" so everybody wins! If you win one of the categories, I'll make you a blog award! To enter, (okay, now I sound like the back of a Lunchables box...) just go to my "Contact Me" page and email me, or you can post your entry on your blog and send me the link in the comments, whatever works best for you. BUT PLEASE ENTER! I really hope that this isn't a contest where no one enters.

Awesome Addie

My doll edits!

So, hey you guys! It's been a while, right? But you know to expect that from me.  I've been sick since Thursday, so I just spent today randomly making doll edits on Pic Monkey. BTW, have you checked out the Halloween things on there? They are really fun. I especially like the vampire. Chloe makes an excellent one, as you'll see later : )  But first, I have to thank all twelve of my followers! The giveaway will be coming soon as possible, and I really hope that you guys like it!

So here are my awesome edits... (I bet you all can't wait to see them, riiiight?? 'Kay.)

I bet you've all wondered what Chloe would look like as a witch, right? Or maybe as Shrek? Well, me neither. But she does look really cute like this. Halloween costume idea... (I can't wait for Halloween! I'm going to be a HOMEMADE RUBIX CUBE! Yep, I'm bringing back the '60's : )

I edited 24, since I've always liked her, and I just went crazy on her hair. Looks a bit unnatural, but I guess she's just not a subtle girl. And her eye darkening looks nice.

She does look great as a vampire, doesn't she? A little scary, but that's the point.  I should have done something to her lips with lip stick or something... you know, 'cause vampires don't really have pale lips? Maybe I'm over thinking it?

This is probably my favorite edit of today, she just looks natural. All I did was add the streak and darken her eyes a bit. This doll is pretty and dramatic enough to look terrific like this.

Although it has a bit of competition with #40... this is when I finally learned how to change the shirt color lol. Can you tell that her hair is darker? Now it is more black then black-brown, which I think I might like better.

As you can see, I named her Kennedy. I died her hair a little red, just a little. I think she looks pretty good, though! And I had one more edit...

McKenna! Oh my gosh, I just love her eyes! And her dress matches them so perfectly...I love it! I was thinking about giving her a heyleight, but she doesn't need it, she already looks interesting enough.

So I hope that you enjoyed my doll edits! Do you like editing doll pictures?

Fun Fall Doll Items from Etsy

Hey Fellow doll-lovers, it is already halfway through September, and fall is very, very soon.  There are so many wonderful fall items for dolls on Etsy and some were so cute I just had to share them with you wonderful people.

This beautiful historical fall dress by PattiKuz is just so pretty on Felicity. The pattern on it just reminds me of FALL.

I can not believe how adorable this is! This pretty dress by cupcakecutiepie is so adorable I really want it for Rachel.

If you have not had a chance to pick up a new backpack for your doll, then Etsy has you covered. These are only a few of the cute ones I found.

I know Chloe would love this cute little backpack by Girl Sew Chic. It's her favorite colors, black and pink.

If skulls and pink aren't your style, check out this nature-inspired backpack by fox and family. It is just so pretty!!!

Fox and family also has this backpack with gelatin on it. I think Julie would LOVE this!

If you and your doll would prefer a simpler backpack to go with anything, I think that these backpacks by WhisperingOak are a great choice. The little star on the front gives them a unique touch.

These Etsy shops are definitely worth a visit!

Sincerley,
Addie

P.S: Thanks to Kassidy, AGW now has 6 followers! I am so exited for the giveaway!

Sneak Peek

I guess its that time of year already... boy, I'll miss summer so much. It's 90 degrees here and AG is already posting pics of dolls wearing snow coats and sledding. AG posted this on their Facebook page:

I'm already shivering... I like summer MUCH better then winter! And that's a really small lake : ) The chalet is cute, and I like the concept and the fact that AG has started making "rooms", like Caroline's,(Who, BTW, is coming in 4 DAYS!!!!) but it looks small and not very sturdy. And the bench is completely out of scale. Who uses a bench that only comes up to their knees? Cute concept, but it's not really working for me, ya know? The doll inside the chalet is adorable. Oh yeah, that's Chloe. She looks great in pigtails (goes upstairs and fiddles with Chloe's greasy hair for an hour, then accepts defeat.) How in the world does AG do it? The outfit she is wearing is not at all cute, however. It looks like her mom forced her to wear her older sister's coat and no shoes. Or are those shoes on the snowboard, which is adorable? Moving on. The outfit on the doll next to the chalet is really cute, but a little too white for my taste. It looks like she is wearing a sweater with her skirt, which is SOOO cute! I would just pair it with jeans and those boots and earmuffs, or maybe a jean skirt. And the doll next to her, either 27 or 22, wearing the adorable skating dress. Now, I don't know much about figure skating, but why is she wearing a performance dress on a frozen lake with her friend? Isn't it, like, for actual  performances?!! : ) But the cute doll with the short brown hair and side bangs has a much cuter outfit. It reminds me of the AG outfit with the blue shirt and grey pants. I don't know about you, but I'd much rather ice skate in that then a dress. My knees would get all bruised up, since I'm not very good at ice skating. Finally, I would like to say that AG's sets always amaze me. Snow and all the little tiny trees. It's so cool!!!!!

Julie's New Hair (Okay, not really new...)

So, remember how I have been complaining about how messy Julie's hair was ever since I started American Girl World? I had always wanted to do something about it, but I kept putting it off. I wanted to rewind her, but I had no idea how.  My mom suggested that we take her to the good ole' American Girl store to ask the workers at the Salon if we would have to send her in to the Doll Hospital to get her a new head, or if they could fix her hair. And............They did, in only an hour! We asked for her hair to be put in the traditional Julie hairstyle, with one braid on the side. And just to warn you, these photos are horrible, taken with an iPhone in the store's bad lighting, and really small.

Before
Ugh. Fly aways everywhere.

And After.
Wow, these people work wonders!

It was really interesting watching them work on Julie's hair. First they spritzed her hair with water and brushed it out with a regular brush. Then they used a toothbrush on her hair (I hope it was clean. Julie does smell a bit minty...). They even trimmed her hair a little at the ends! I had once done that with Olivia, but never with an AG doll. It looked really great, and only cost 18 dollars.

Katniss Barbie Doll and Decisions.

Hello everybody! I know, I said I wasn't going to leave for 2 weeks again. I went on vacation, and now, looking back,  I guess I should have said something. I'm really, really sorry. Ok, moving on. This is not really AG related, but I just got home. I will take some pictures for a longer post really.

A few months ago, I saw a picture of this doll, and I loved her so much. I had just finished reading the Hunger Games, and this doll is awesome. She has a new face mold instead of a regular barbie one, and her face is stunning. She is a pink label doll that will cost you 34.99 and will likely go for tons on Ebay after she is sold out. I guess I could buy her with the money I won in the lottery, but I am buying 28 or 40 (yaaaay!!!). But when I went to Toys R Us and saw her, she was not as awesome in person and I did not feel compelled to buy her. I mean, she was a pretty doll, but she did not look like Katniss, and I don't really like Barbies. I would have bought a Katniss. But not this doll. What I would love to do is make a custom Katniss doll, but I can't.

Ok, this is off topic, but which doll should I get, 40, 28, or Josefina? I love all of them, and they would all make my collection more unique. I will be putting up a poll, so please vote. Also, if you have these dolls, please tell me in the comments how you like them!!!

Sincerely,
Addie

Caroline Abott

Hola people, Caroline has been coming up on Google images! I had already seen the picture of her on Doll Diaries, but now pics of her collection have been coming up. Caroline's collection is very different for AG.

See what I mean? A boat. Wow. This is cute, but the boat looks really small, like even shorter then the doll. The size makes it look a bit silly, in my opinion. And from the picture, it looks like it's made of plastic. Ugh. More plastic, American girl? And I'm sure that this is going to be like 200 dollars, even though it probably costs a few dollars to make in some factory in China. And yes, all AG items are made in China. And anyway, you couldn't actually use it, because the doll would probably fall in the water. Cute idea, Ag, but not very functional. Ugh, I spent way to much time on that. On to the dress. Ah, the dress. It is sooo pretty!!!! It looks like It has a little jacket on top of the dress, with little buttons. From the photos we have seen so far, It looks like Caroline will be coming from a wealthy family, so she will have lots of pretty dresses : )

Wow. Wow. Wow. This is just awesome. I love the pretty color scheme, and it looks so detailed. I love the window seat, and I hope that the drawers will open, so you can store stuff in it. I just love everything about this. Except ( you knew this was coming, right? I thought so. ) for the fireplace. From what I can see, it looks like a painting, and not even a very good one? Couldn't AG have made the fireplace real? I mean, even the Journey Girls one is better. American Girl is supposed to be about detail, and historical accuracy. Now, it seems like all its about is the money, not the girls. This makes me really sad. Really, really, really sad The dress, however, is pretty cool. So far, I think I like Caroline's beautiful clothes more then her ... uh, boat and parlor. The only good thing I can say about it is that it seems like a room, and AG may make more of these. That would be really cool.

And this is Caroline. I love, love, love her! Some people have said that she looks too much like Lanie, but She has longer hair, and if you look closely, (sorry that this pic is so small, but still) she has very pretty green-grey eyes. Anyway, Lanie is retired, and some people may actually want a doll that looks like Lanie. I love this. People have also said that she is just the typical blonde with blue eyes, but this is not true. AG actually only has one Historical doll with blonde hair and blue eyes, Kit. I think that people just think that because they expected Caroline to be a redhead. Her dress, however, does look way too much like Felicity's summer dress.  Caroline has the classic mold, and a doll with this mold has not been made for a long time. I just love this doll so much, and she may become part of my doll family someday. Caroline will be available in stores on September 4th.

Sincerely,
Addie

GOYTs

Yeah, so I wanted to post, but I couldn't really think of anything. So I decided to talk about the GOYTs that Ag has made over the years. Random, yeah. I know. Don't criticize me. All of these photos belong to American Girl. I apologize for the tiny side of these pics, but if I make them bigger, they get all blurry.

This is Lindsey, girl of the year 2002. I don't really like Lindsey. Her story was OK, but her outfit is kinda... weird looking. It's a little babyish. I like Lindsey's personality, but her collection was small. And her dog was never even made! A daunshend ( I know, I spelled that completely wrong. Sorry, I'm kinda tired. ) would have been awesome!!! Because Lindsey was not very popular, AG stopped making a GOYT for a year.

This is Kailey, girl of the year  2004.   Kailey was awesome! I have not read her book, but the story sounds really cool. Her meet dress is kinda ugly, but the doll herself is awesome. She reminds me a bit of Julie, but also has no part like McKenna. Her collection is pretty cool, too.

Marisol Luna, girl of the year 2005, is soo pretty! She looks a lot like 28, the doll that I will be getting next. Marisol's story centers around dance, and if you go here, you will see that her outfits are just stunning. The thing is, I should never buy her. I'm horrible at taking care of curly harired dolls. Rachel's is fine, but still, I'm pretty bad at it. Sorry, that does not make any sense.

Well, I have to go now, but I will finish the GOYTs in a few hours.

Sincerely,
Addie

AG's Sale with Retired Items!!

Hey everyone, Ag is having a sale! They are selling retired items and things that will soon be retired, like this soccer outfit:

As well as MyAG clothing and accessories, the sale includes items from Kanani's collection, and Kit, Josephina, and Ruthie's. Many Bitty Baby and Bitty Twin items are also being sold, as well s a few books and activities. Some things are at a GREAT price, like the Star Hoodie outfit, and some retired pets being sold for only 15 dollars. This sale is a great chance to buy outfits and accessories that you love but have missed, or to finish your collection. When I saw the sale, I went to the Ag website and bought a few things. This is what I got:

Kanani's Party dress was 22 dollars. They are calling it the Party Outfit. AG often does this with retired GOYT, like Chrissa's snow outfit, and Gwen's meet dress. The first time I saw this dress, all I thought was "Wow." I love the combination of blue and silver, and this dress looks so...oh oh oh! Time to wait 5 to 8 business days...Argh!!!!!!!!!!! Mckenna would look great in this.

These sandals are called the braided sandals, and they are just awesome! I can totally imagine Rachel wearing these with a pair of jean shorts and a tank top, relaxing by the pool with a magazine and a lemonade...ahhhh. I would love a pair of sandals like these for myself, actually. Too bad that there retired.

So, once your done reading this post, go to the AG website and order your dolls something!

Sincerley,
Addie

I'm Back!

Hi everybody! I just wanted to say that I am BACK!, and with 4 new dolls in the house!!! I'm SO sorry that I have not posted in sooo long, I've just been really busy! I promise that I'll try harder to post more often, maybe three times a week? So, I'll let you meet all the new girls and tell you about them. They are all VERY different.

Meet Caroline and Chloe! ( Left to right )

Okay, so this is Caroline and Chloe. Caroline is my sis's doll, and Chloe is mine. Caroline is #53 ( the doll that I have wanted for all of eternity... sigh... ) and Chloe is #25. Chloe is 12, and a total sk8er chick who loves listening to music and hanging out with Julie. She is an only child and a bit of a rebel.
Her favorite color is aqua and her favorite food is pizza ( not pepperoni though, she is a vegetarian ).
Caroline is 13 and loves watching romance movies and comedies. She is always daydreaming, but somehow manages to get straight a's all the time. She can be really shy around new people, but once she gets to know someone, she is very outgoing.  She is Julie's older sister and will someday have a twin : )

Meet Rachel Rubin!

This is Rachel, a renamed Rebecca doll who is 14. Rachel is hardworking and brave, and is always busy. She is very responsible. Her best friend is Caroline, although both of them sometimes hang out with Kenna, who is 16.

This doll has a story behind her. Okay, not real a story, but... whateves. I knew that I was going to get a new doll, and I really wanted #28. I was on the AG website, ready to order my doll. I looked at 28, then looked at Rebecca and bought her. Her hair is messy, but I love her all the same.

I also got an OG doll from my bro for my birthday.
So, more posts soon, but I have to go now. Buy, guys.

Sincerely,
Addie

Random 2

Well, another totally random post. I guess I'll just divide everything into categories.

I probably won't be able to post for the next few days. I'm going to New Jersey for my dad's high school reunion. I'm really sorry about not being able to post.

My Birthday is coming up! It's in a few days and I am really exited! I hope that I will get some AG stuff, but what ever I get will be great!

The number 10. I't's such an important number. I mean, like everything is 10. 10. 10. 10. 10. Also, 10 is great for math because it ends with a zero. So simple, riiight? I decided to post 10 facts about myself here, because I'm in a random kind of mood.

1. I just ate rainbow sherbet ice cream.

2. Today was my dog's birthday party. I got him a stuffed dog toy, a free homemade dog food sample, and a muffin that we bought at our dog bakery. Happy Birthday Buddy! I love you!

3. I love the color blue.

4. Kirsten kind of creeps me out. I don't know why, she just does. I'm really not trying to offend any Kirsten fans, it's just my opinion.

5. I love, love, LOVE the Hunger Games! I read the first book in less then two days, and then I was HOOKED!!! I really want to start a Hunger Games website with my friends! ( Don't worry, I could do 2 blogs!

6: I love soccer. I play on a team with some of my friends, and we are the Killer Gummy Bears ( awesome name, riiiight?)
7: My friends and I are going to make a website for our little brother's baseball team.

8. I loved reading McKenna, and I can't wait to read McKenna Shoots for the Stars! I hear that it has horses... I love horses!

9: I really like the TV show Good Luck Charlie. I like the episode where PJ and Gabe think that Mrs. Dabne murders her husband and try to "investigate"

10: I love dogs, especially cocapoos (that's Buddy's breed)

Thanks for reading,
Addie

Happy Birthday Julie

Today is Julie's birthday! She is turning 11. For her party, she is going to have a sleepover with McKenna!
I really want to get this for Julie, but I am trying to save my money for the AG Store in New York. However, maybe McKenna or Livie will be willing to buy it for her.

This is the very first picture that I posted in March! Wow, I am so glad that I pulled back Julie's hair!

BFFs!!! When I took this photo, both of my dolls were wearing leggings and mismatched tees. Oh, and no shoes : ) Don't their feet hurt?

photo.JPG
And the most recent picture! I took this last night. I know that the quality of these pictures are horrible, but I took them with an iPhone. J is so exited for her party, I have not yet told my dolls the news that I might get a new doll...they are not exactly friendly to new dolls.

Thanks for reading,
Addie
